Capturing Monster Moth Outside US Bank
Wild encounter of an insect that is not seen everyday.
After we captured it, we did some research and found out that it is a Polyphemus Moth. After knowing that it only has a week to live and reproduce we have released it into the wild.
Little Insect Grubb-y guy
I spied upon this little guy walking home, and couldn't help take a video. Not sure what exactly he is, or what he is soon to become, but his struggle with crawling along the ground was just too endearing to not capture.
Look at those little legs he's using to cart his huge body around, fantastic!
European Garden Spider (Araneus diadematus) eating big insect
European Garden Spider (Araneus diadematus) eating big insect! Yep, we are full of insects here! Sorry for the bad quality of the video. The close ups of this camera just suck!
Georgia Night Insect Sounds
West Georgia nighttime insect sounds. Katydids on lead, crickets and possibly tree frogs on rhythm, and air-conditioning and interstate on percussion.
How to handle a stick insect
Handling of stick insects is easy. Some can be difficult as they can spray acid but most don't. Good beginner insects would be Thai, Indian, Giant Spiny, and Giant Prickly Stick Insects. They make a great addition to my collection and an interesting animal for the people that don't like my snakes.

Insect in Sangeetha 'Pure Veg' Restaurant India
From the video's description: Insect in fried food served at Sangeetha restaurant in Velachery, a suburub in the South Indian city of Chennai. The manager came and said that not to make a hue and cry since it was common that insects fly in due to the weather. So much for hygeine. The road where the restaurant is situated has several garbage mounds and open drains. Wonder how they clear the health inspections.

Team of ants carrying a force sensor
A team of Aphaenogaster cockerelli foragers carrying an artificial load marked with fig paste to make it attractive to them. Deflections of the sensor arms reveal the forces exerted by each ant. This kind of data can explain how these leaderless groups manage to coordinate so well. In turn, the ants can inspire designs for collective transport by robots.
Team of ants moving a fig
When scouts of the desert ant Aphaenogaster cockerelli find an item too large for a single ant, they quickly organize a small team that lifts and carries it directly to their nest, thus evading more aggressive competitors. This impressive ability is not seen in most ant species, which instead exploit large items in place, cut them into small pieces, or mount much clumsier retrieval efforts.
